Yesterday, Saturday, Iranian media published the first video recording of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei since he assumed office, after months of absence that raised speculation about his health condition and whereabouts. Mehr Agency described the recording as a “new video” published for the first time, in which Khamenei appears during what appears to be a session teaching religious sciences. However, the agency did not specify the date or location of the filming of the clip, nor did it reveal the circumstances of its recording. The duration of the video does not exceed about 13 seconds, and Khamenei appears sitting and surrounded by a number of his students, without the recording including any time indication that could confirm its recentness, according to what was reported by the “CGTN” network. The clip represents the first video material published by an official or semi-official Iranian media outlet of Khamenei since his appointment as Supreme Leader last March, succeeding his father.
